چکیده

This paper presents an approach to the reconfiguration of radial distribution networks, for both loss reduction and service restoration, using the same metaheuristic tool: the simulated annealing algorithm. Besides the main objective of each problem (minimizing losses or load not supplied) minimization of the total number of switching device operations is also included as a possible criterion. Due to these conflicting goals, the network reconfiguration is a multiobjective optimization problem. The paper shows how to generate efficient solutions for the problem and discusses the associated decision issues. A 52-bus distribution network is used to illustrate the methodology.

An Hybrid Approach for Loss Reduction in Distribution Systems using Harmony Search Algorithm

Individually Network reconfiguration or Capacitor control perform well in minimizing power loss and improving voltage profile of the distribution system. But for heavy reactive power loads network reconfiguration and for heavy active power loads capacitor placement can not effectively reduce power loss and enhance voltage profiles in the system. In this paper, an hybrid approach that combine ne...

Multi objective Approach for Overloading and Service Restoration through Feeder Reconfiguration to minimize I

This paper presents the method to solve the over loading problem and service restoration strategies for affected zones due to fault in a three feeder distribution network which deals with the estimation of load changes through feeder reconfiguration using the heuristic search technique. This method is based on minimum number of switching operations and minimum total IR losses. Software has been...

Network Reconfiguration for Loss Reduction in Three-phase Power Distribution Systems

Power distribution systems typically have tie and sectionalizing switches whose states determine the topological configuration of the network. The system configuration affects the efficiency with which the power supplied by the substation is transferred to the load. Power companies are interested in finding the most efficient configuration, the one which minimizes the real power loss of their t...

Optimal Reconfiguration of Distribution Network for Power Loss Reduction and Reliability Improvement Using Bat Algorithm

In power systems, reconfiguration is one of the simplest and most low-cost methods to reach many goals such as self-healing, reliability improvement, and power loss reduction, without including any additional components. Regarding the expansion of distribution networks, communications become more complicate and the number of parameters increases, which makes the reconfiguration problem infeasib...
